Words are actions and actions are a kind of words - Emerson
![]() Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead | About Me I have always been eager for action. From a very young age I remember my mother saying to me, "Charity, you just do stuff." Usually, this phrase was used in frustration after I had knocked down canned food off a shelf in a grocery store, or decided to go explore outside of our country home without telling anyone where I would be for several hours. This eagerness to act transferred into school activities such as sports and dramatic acting and an eventual education at Oklahoma Baptist University. I am a current Senior at Oklahoma Baptist University and I will graduate in May 2014 with a communication studies degree. My education at OBU has taught me to critically think about issues that I am passionate about. Further, the ability to think critically paired with my eagerness to act encompass who I am. I am seeking a masters in communication studies and an eventual PhD. Ultimately, I hope to become a professor of communication studies and encourage students to find the intersection of their passion and scholarly research. My interests include interpersonal communication and nonverbal communication. Specifically, nonverbal behavior in worship contexts. I am interested in travel, inspiring and being inspired by others, and learning how to be a difference maker. |
